Fed: Rioting asylum seekers armed with spears and slingshots 2

Mr KIRBY says the protesters set another building alight about 1pm (CST) after the
water cannons failed to dampen their efforts.

He says there's no sign the intensity of the riot is decreasing, but there seems little
chance of any detainees escaping.

Mr KIRBY says the water stops them for a little while but they just come back, like
a running battle.

He says the guards are on one side of the fence with protesters on the other.
