Fed: Moylan survives preselection challenge

Liberal moderate JUDI MOYLAN has survived a preselection challenge for her safe West
Australian rural seat of Pearce.

Mrs MOYLAN was one of three Liberal backbenchers who defied the Prime Minister to vote
against tough new migration laws earlier this month.

She defeated party colleague and former One Nation candidate JAMIE FALLS in a ballot
at the WA Liberal Party's Perth office last night.

Mrs MOYLAN was tipped to face a strong preselection challenge from sections of the
party angered by her stance on the migration laws.

She's told the ABC she's relieved at the result because you can never take pre-selections
for granted.

Results of the preselection ballot now go to the WA Liberal Party state council for endorsement.
